Bunje Loves You

'Ello poppets. I hope this short pause in school action was restful for you, and that your weekend respite has prepared you for the rigors of what lay ahead..i.e the dreaded midterms.

After careful consideration and internal debate about what is best for you, I have made an executive decision to forego this week's blog assignment in lieu of all the mid terms that need your attention. Therefore, you are free from deep, intellectual thoughts, questions with no answers and subjective definitions of words, concepts and ideas that have definitions already. You may use this space as you wish, or you may log off happily with no threat of reprimand. If you find yourself at your wits' end due to the massive amounts of studying needed for various AP and CP midterms, please feel free to post and get your feelings out so that they do not sabotage your success on these loathesome tests. I will miss you this week, and look forward to seeing you when this madness is over. Good Luck!

BTW--although I shouldn't because it will ruin my rep as a heartless hardass, anyone who did not have time to read their OP can do so on Friday, or if there is time, on the day of your respective Lang midterm. Don't wait til the last minute again or I'll kill you. Jerks.

I sent you a response, Meg.

Well, I am not sure if you sent it to the right email or if it was just my email. My email address is meaganlee@myway.com. I never received the response but if you could try and resend it one more time that would be great. I am going to try and stop by later today.

The email it was sent from was Salvatore Luciano at atlantic care. That is the one I replied back to.

As far as the Occasional Papers go, that's good to hear.

I was gonna come in and ask you to take away my grade and split it between the people that didn't get to read.

Oh, and my poem was about the loss of my ability to write.
Key:
Hands - voice
Abyss - conformity, acceptance of mediocrity
Lips - vocabulary, diction
Castle - my mind.

Okay. Listen, Bunj, I'm really sorry for poisoning the blog in this way, but I feel the need to rant about math for a moment. I'm warning you ahead of time, so that you can just skip over this if you please, but I need to shout for a bit.

OH MY GOD MATH IS SUCH A WASTE OF MY LIFE. I spent 2 hours of my life in Mr.A's room today, and I was like 3/4 way through my midterm; open-ended problems done and- I'm pretty sure- correct, multiple choice 15 away from the finish line. I was confident in my time management skills, and was doing pretty well. Until I got to appx problem 30. It was a triangle, I was solving for the side, and the answer was coming out of my calculator wrong. Now, normally, I am not one to question the almighty power of the God that is my calculator, because as sad as it is, I probably couldn't do anything concerning negatives without it. However, it was telling me something along the lines of "the triangle you're looking at, which has 2 sides of 10 and 12, has a third side of 234."

To which I responded, "Bullshit, calculator. I will fiddle with the parenthesis, but you better stop fooling around."

But it didn't. So I called Mr. A over and I was like, "I know I'm putting the formula in right, so what's wrong with my calculator?"

He scowls for a moment, then presses the MODE button. "You're in Radians instead of degrees," he says, like this should explain the meaning of life, "here, that should fix it."

So I put in the same equation I'd plopped in before, but get a totally rational answer.

"Wait." I say horrified, " Does this mean everything I've done so far is wrong?"

"Everything having to do with Sin, Cos, and Tan."

OH, MR. A, GREAT. THAT'S ONLY THE WHOLE FREAKING TEST. THANKS FOR CLEARING THAT UP.

So I just failed my honors pre-calc midterm. I felt like crying, and honestly thought about marching down to Mrs. Cavelerie's office and telling her I was quitting math forever and NOT taking AP Stats. I may still do this, but I restrained myself today. So, as a warning, PRESS MODE BEFORE YOU START YOUR MATH MIDTERMS. CHECK IT.

Fiona:
Holy dang... that sucks. o.o; I've never had Mr. A but from all this that I'm hearing, he sounds really hard and a pain.. o.o;;;;

Fi--you never need to apologize for slamming math.
Half of what you said about it may as well been in heiroglyphic Urdu for as much as I understood it, but whatever the hell sin cos and tan (assuming that has nothing to do with summer sunshine) sounds staggeringly horrifying.

1. Midterms suck. I probably failed two out of the three i took so far, so thats a doozie.

2. I am SO pissed that i left a little velvet bag with earrings i got for my birthday and an amazing necklace in the bathroom afterschool on Thursday. I was going to wear it on cabaret night. &%^#%^*

3. Got a new camera for christmas guys!! WHOOO-oh wait, but apparently if you drop it once(in its case) it breaks forever. COOOL WHIP.

4. Bunjeee, are we reaaaally having a reeaaall party on Friday?? Last time I brought chips....and there was no party.=[
(Even though, it's like a party everyday with my oranges...but i thought it'd be nice for everyone to have oranges too. =)

Some day...and I know it...there will be a day when none of these test scores will ever matter, and you know what? I'm going to be really happy, but not just happy; I'm going to be really proud of myself. It's ashame how you can't feel proud of yourself when you see that you got a 66 on your midterm. It's a number. A number that somehow either makes you feel like you can get somewhere in life, or helpless.

I agree completely Ashley. I can't wait til grades don't define my life.

Ashley. You are amazing.
I completely agree. Grades shouldn't control our lives. Mehhhhhhhhhh.

On a more cheerier note, I can't wait until Cabaret Night. :) That's what's getting me through midterms... looking forward to Friday.

I have to study for Physics, or else I would write more. Argh.

Ash, I couldn't have said it better. I wish everyone was of the mindset that "it's just a number" but I know, particularly for AP kids, that number IS how you define yourselves. Not all of you, but many, and even one would be too many. There is very little in the humanities that can be guaged by a number--and that is not my surly disposition on all things math speaking.

aww ashley i loved ur comment! and fiona i kno how you feel i used my imaginary pychic powers to finish my pre calc test..

"this one speaks to me. it wants to be a letter A "

haha leonor, I did the same thing in Physics. What's that Mr. 32? B is feeling lonely? Well that's true, he hasn't been scribbled in since number 16... Well then, Mr. 32, congrats on your B. XD

Also, Bunj, fo' real, are we having a party, yay or nay? Cuz I'd love to make you guys like, cupcakes, or considering it'll be 10 am, maybe some yummy muffins, but I don't want to arrive with my deliciousness and be turned down. D=

You can bring whatever deliciousness you like Fifi.
