In an attempt to alleviate all of the pain, emotions, and random thoughts bouncing around within my mind, I've decided to writing OP #5! I realize very few will actually read it but it helped to write it nonetheless. I also offer you the same therapeutic opportunity. Release everything that's bottle up within you. Trust me, even if no one reads your paper, you will still feel 110% better...
Oh and of course comments are encouraged and appreciated :)

Part 1
Tall, looming above the earth, surrounding, enclosing everything within, the bastion stands. The general in charge forcibly presses on with its construction, raising the stronghold yards within seconds. The sun occasionally brakes through the dark barrier, penetrating the shadows, casting a glimmer of hope. But that quickly, the bonhomie fades and the erection of the never-ending prison continues.
Every ounce of energy contributes to the fortification of the massive prison.
Nothing enters. Nothing leaves. The harmonious melodies of the birds fail to infiltrate, leaving the nothing but sad echoes as their songs reverberate back into the distance. Birds of every shape and size attempt to scale the wall, climbing to insurmountable height, tiring with every last breath. They plummet back to earth and their avian brethren rush to aid the falling comrades. Every one tramps away in anguish, scared, sad, and mostly disappointed.
The wall continues to proliferate.
The woodland creatures attempt what their wing’ed cousins couldn’t. Pyramiding themselves, rabbits, squirrels, gophers, scurried to the top. Deer and other large animals constitute the base of the edifice, providing support and stability. Millions of creatures flock to the scene, exponentially increasing the topless marvel. The forest becomes silent; every animal stands perched precariously upon another, but in vain. The wall remains out of sight. Gracefully, the lightest fauna tiptoe down the steep skyscraper, followed by the next, until the entire pyramid has been deconstructed. They return to their happy environment.
The cell continues its reinforcement, the top now invisible to the world below.
Days pass, miles erected. Nothing changes, the mundane routine of fortifying continues.
No longer able to construct anymore, the workers plead for relief, their calloused hands fold, their heads bow in supplication. The general desires to continue but realizes the foolishness in doing so. He grants the exhausted workers rest, and prepares a feast fit for a royalty. Everyone partakes in the “joyous” festivity.
Ravenous starvation overcomes everyone. Bones fly haphazardly as chicken is voraciously ripped and gnawed clean from its support. Gallons of water rush down the gullets of starved laborers. They know this will never occur again. Never.
This once-in-a-blue-moon experience concludes with sleep, a luxury little known to these slaves. Feather-top beds, cloud-like pillows, hand-made silk sheets, the indulgences of a king, all come provided for those restless workers. Seconds later they are snoring soundly, soft music hums in the background. This surprise symphony chooses not to reveal itself…
BAMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!
The gong bellows.
The terrified sleepers awake.
The gong bellows again.
BAMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!
Everyone jumps to attention, pajamas and all. The general declares breakfast has been served. Confused, the workers cautiously approach the dining hall, unsure of what to expect.
Part 2
Before them lay a banquet: Danishes of endless varieties, tarts of the rarest fruits, fresh eggs cooked to order, beautiful, crunchy vegetables, pancakes as far as the eye could see, juice of every variety occupied the table, fresh, warm, sweet maple syrup…
Surprise at the overwhelming kindness, the workers momentarily hesitate but quickly consume fulsome amounts of food before the general rescinds the offer. Little do they know the true reason for the good-hearted kindness…
While everyone dozed the previous night, the general remained ever vigilant. He scouted the sky, scoped the ground. Nothing appeared. A beautiful melody begins to play but there’s no sign of its procurer. The general scans the night sky but with no luck. The melody grows louder and louder, almost deafening him with its beauteous tones. Then it vanishes.
Desperately the general searches, trying to locate the intoxicating rhythm.
A light shimmers below but flickers out, a slight tap on the shoulder.
Startled, the general double takes and spins around, not much different then a turtle on its back.
Before him a glowing, ghostly image, but not hideous. Quite the opposite. A gorgeous, feminine creature stands before him. Wavy oak-stained hair, a perfect match with the trees, deep, entrancing eyes like reflection pools, an amazing figure, more perfect than a goddess. She stared, silently. He felt the fortification weakening and immediately pushed her away. She vanished…
Hoping to catch a glimpse of the elusive girl, he gave everything, praying that his kindness would draw her near again. It does.
A radiant blast of light shoots from the heavens, glowing green and blazing a fiery red. Her spectral image appears within the pillar, radiating with beauty. He wishes to reach out and grab her hand, but knows the damage that will come to the bulwark. He resists but her allure pulls him almost as obstinately.
Those below the spirit gaze in awe, memorized.
Light fills the dark prison, bouncing off every wall, shining up every face, warming every stone-cold heart. Clouds vanish, heavenly songs imbue the air, happiness abounds.
The wall cracks, a minor fracture within a mighty fortress. But he knows. Outstretching his hands in opposing direction, he struggles to maintain the integrity of his bastion while reaching for his angel. He can’t have both; nature won’t allow it.
Her image starts to flicker; the wall begins to shake. The calm light transforms into an intense purple glare. Melodies begin to fade; the sky darkens; the sun disappears. Still he remains motionless. Within seconds she will vanish or the wall will crumble, which is more important. He closes his eyes and takes a leap of faith. He prays for guidance but no response, just the clash between brain and heart. No time remains, he must act NOW…
I wrote a fifth OP too, at the beginning of October. I just gave it to Bunj, but posting them here is a neat idea too.
What is this abouttttt
